360 and 16:10 monitor = ?

I'm buying an Xbox 360 Elite next week (already bought some games and accessories:D) and i would like to ask if anyone have any clues on how it works when connect through VGA cable to a widescreen PC monitor. The thing is that i'm worried about the image being stretched, cause my monitor's native resolution is 1680x1050 and apect ratio is 16:10 (unlike 16:9 on HDTV's). My question is, if 360 has some kind of AR correction for 16:10 monitors? I'm sure it has a 5:4 mode for standard LCD monitors, but no-one mentioned a 16:10 monitor. Please be so kind and help me, thank you in advance.360 and 16:10 monitor = ?
The fall update will include 16:10 resolutions, but for now you'll be stuck with the closest 16:9 equivalent :) And no there is no ratio correction. The image will appear slightly distorted unless your monitor has its own ratio correction.360 and 16:10 monitor = ?
Thanks for answer, but that's almost turning me off of buying a 360 now...:( Do you know by any chance when the fall update is coming?
Yeah I used to have my 360 hooked up to a monitor, and it was a painful experience. I had a 5:4 monitor and not all games would even display in letterbox mode, so they'd be a horrible low resolution. And when I tried a widescreen monitor, the image was distorted enough to be irritating. I just bought a 32'' TV instead!I believe the update is coming around the second week of November...
The Fall Update will hit on November 19th. Until then, you shouldn't have much trouble with the nearest 16:9 resolution on your PC monitor. I use a 19'' Dell at work and the 360 displays fine. It'll be much better after the update but I wouldn't lose any sleep over it in the next few weeks.
Thanks for help guys, i'll get 360 on 3rd November so i guess 2 weeks with stretched image won't hurt much. Unless there's some kind of delay between European update (i'm from Czech Republic).
