Far Cry 2 multiplayer is actually good.

Yeh Im pretty surprised myself, but my first 2 hours on far cry 2 MP was actually pretty satisfying. That definately wasnt my initial opinion. Your first reaction to its multiplayer will be: wow I move alot slower. Walking speed is actually slower than COD4 walking. As I adjusted to the speed and I realized that being slower also carried its perks. While its not difficult to hit a walking target, when that walking target starts running, slows down and runs again, its so much harder to hit him. You can also do power moves, jumping while running will net you a slight speed increase after landing that transitions flawlessly to keep and even increase the pace, similarly, you can pull a slide, your character ducks and move foward faster than usual but stops after the slide, its like a limited drift, you get the idea.But mix all those in and you can start refining movement, you'll died less and killed alot more. Now im growing very fond of the controls, you kind of get the average joe soldier moving around sort of feel but when you pull off a good mix of higher order movements, it makes you feel like a badass. +++Maps are awesome. They're very sizeable and very well designed. Technically its on par with the best COD4 maps and they're better because they're bigger. All in all the size fits very well with 16 players and the longer average lifespan of the player. This is probably the biggest plus of Far Cry 2. Map quality is top notch. +++Cool upgrade system. Instead of picking weapons and customizing an individual character, you choose from classes, more are unlocked as you play more. You earn diamonds within a game, when you get certain number of kills, you'll have them as currency in the customization screen, with it, you can upgrade a class, (increasing the stamina, number of grenades carried, etc) and with enough diamonds, you can unlock special weapons for the class (2 diamonds=grenade launcher as secondary weapon, etc). Character upgrades carry on into the next round, but not when you leave the game. Overall Far Cry 2 MP is just surprisingly better than your first assumption.
