Buying a used Xbox 360.

You think buying a used premium bundle that was manufactured in 2006 for 180$ is a good deal? I know it still has the RROD warranty which is good but as for the consoles made in early 2006, you think they are as problematic as the first waves of them in late 2005 and if its not problematic now then ill expeirence issues soon after i buy it? Or do you think its more worth it to buy a brand new premium for 260$. I see if i can get it for 180$ and have it work great for a while then it was a good deal but if it so happens to break down then id have to pay 140$ or so totalling 320$ to get a refurbished back. What do you guys think is best?Buying a used Xbox 360.
i'd never buy a used 360 man it's too dangerous. i've heard stories of people getting RRoD and then using the towel trick to save their system for enough time to sell it off to someone and once they get it it breaks down again after a week and they think its just natural 360 crappiness when they really got ripped. and anyone can do that..on ebay or even in an eb games or a swap shop if they take systems. just make sure you get it from a good place and you should be fineBuying a used Xbox 360.
Take it from someone who has sent his Xbox 360 for repair 4 times. You are much better off buying a new 360 (and if I were to buy a new 360, I would even look at the box to see if there's dust around it at the store--just to make sure it's part of a new shipment).

there not even alot of money for a new one. I mean the elite it like $399. thats the same price for a PS3. and arcade is like $200 or something.360's became very cheap.
Good advice thanks, ill just spend the extra cash on a new system but if i can get a new one off craigslist ill do it and save a little more.
GET IT NEW... as much as i love my 360 i know its not very reliable you have to treat them well and when you buy them used you dont know how they have been treated..

If you buy an Arcade for $200 you can usually get a free game or accessory from most retailers, and then you could use the Microsoft memory upgrade program to get a 20GB HDD for $20 or $30 more.

I have bought 3 used 360s. Two had the RROD and one did not. I sent the RRODs back and got nice fresh new consoles and the one that didn't have one works just fine. I still spent less on those 3 than I would if I bought an Elite. Most came with a controller, HDD and a handful of games and other accessories. ;)
I bought like a used 360 20 gig for 170, came with everything and I don't regret it so far at all :P
Dude, always buy new. If you can't, then wait until you can. You don't know what kinds of crap people have done to a used console. Especially with all the ''towel trick'' people out there.
